:::: I have recently defended my PhD thesis (awarded with "Summa cum Laude" distinction) therefore I have expertise with the technique of high-resolution respirometry (Oroboros-2k equipment) in the study of mitochondria dysfunction in isolated kidney mitochondria. Since the field of blood cells respirometry (in particular, platelets) is only just emerging, aquiring the skills of testing mitochondrial function in blood cells will allow me to gather further knowledge, as we are currently trying to implement this novel technique in our department. The experiments will be aimed at comparing the effect of different anticoagulants on the mitochondrial respiration in platelets drawn from healthy donors. MitoEAGLE Short-Term Scientific Mission
- Work Plan summary
- I have recently defended my PhD thesis (awarded with "Summa cum Laude" distinction) therefore I have expertise with the technique of high-resolution respirometry (Oroboros-2k equipment) in the study of mitochondria dysfunction in isolated kidney mitochondria. This mobility will contribute to the scientific objectives of the Working Group 1 (Standard operating procedures and user requirement documentation) and Working Group 4 (MitoEAGLE data repository for blood cells), respectively of the COST Action.
