O2k-Main Unit
Description | The O2k-Main Unit is a component of the O2k-Core. The O2k-Main Unit consists of functionally defined, integral elements, the (O2k-Main Basic, O2k-Peltier Temperature Control, two O2k-Electromagnetic Stirrer Control units, two O2k-Amperometric OroboPOS Channels, O2k-Barometric Pressure Transducer), which cannot be obtained separately. |

The O2k-Main Unit consists of integral elements, which are not separately available: The query description has an empty condition.
O2k-Series
The O2k is continuously developed further to integrate various innovations. While all O2k instruments have the same high standard for measuring respiration, there are differences with respect to:
- Type of stoppers and chamber holders used
- Type of OroboPOS-Connector
- Availability of additional electronic channels for O2k-MultiSensor applications.
The Series of the O2k is specified as the capital letter in the serial number of the O2k, shown on the label on the rear of the O2k-Main Unit MiPNet12.06. A serial number B-xxxx or C-xxxx denotes O2k-Series B or C, while D-xxxx denotes an O2k-Series D.
With DatLab operating connected to the O2k, the serial number of the O2k is displayed:
- in the right corner of the status line, besides the DatLab version number (bottom).
- in the window caption of the O2k-Control window [F7].
Support of O2k-Modules
The O2k (Series E) and hgher support all modules. O2k (Series A-D) require the O2k-MultiSensor electronic upgrade. An exception is the application of an NO sensor in a single chamber of the Series A to C O2k.
Power supply cable
The O2k is delivered with one of three different types of power supply cables:
- US type (O2k-Main Power Cable\120 V\US-CA, 21112-01)
- European type (O2k-Main Power Cable\230 V\Europe, 21111-01)
- Australian Type (O2k-Main Power Cable\230 V\AU-NZ, 21113-01)
Use 21111-01 O2k-Main Power Cable\230 V\Europe (Hybrid German/French plug CEE 7-7. Type E+F) only for compatible socket. Note that some Danish sockets also accept the CEE7/7 plugs, but there is no grounding connection with these plugs because a male ground pin is required on the plug.
Control lights
MitoPedia O2k and high-resolution respirometry:
O2k-Open Support
After switching on the O2k-Main Unit, the control LEDs on the O2k are illuminated.
- On the left hand side: the lights should be green.
- On the right hand side: the 'Comm' light should be yellow (before connection to DatLab) or green (after connection to DatLab during data recording).
- Left and right stirrer: green (stirrers are on and running at set speed); yellow (briefly the stirrers are accelerating after having been switched on); red (stirrers are switched off).
Should these lights be unlit, you should exchange the fuse on the rear of the O2k-Main Unit where the power cable is plugged in. A spare fuse is supplied with the O2k in the accessory box (O2k-Assembly Kit). If the 'Comm' light is red, this indicates an electronic problem.
